Provide critical services to children and families during the coronavirus pandemic.

Full-Service Community Schools (FSCS) grants are the primary source of federal funding for community schools nationwide. These grants enable organizations like Children’s Aid to implement the community schools strategy, which delivers comprehensive academic, social, and health supports to students, families, and communities. Community schools are a proven, evidence-based approach to student success, addressing barriers to learning inside and outside the classroom. For many schools, FSCS funding is essential to sustaining these critical services.

Unfortunately, funding for FSCS is at serious risk this year. Both the President’s budget proposal and the House Appropriations Committee’s education bill eliminate all funding for FSCS grants. If these proposals move forward, Full-Service Community Schools could lose federal support entirely. Contact your members of Congress to urge them to restore funding for FSCS in the FY26 federal budget, ensuring that New York students and families continue to receive these vital supports.
