Provide critical services to children and families during the coronavirus pandemic.

Federal funding for SNAP‑Ed ended with H.R.1, but the need for this vital nutrition education program has never been greater across New York state. For more than 30 years, SNAP‑Ed has helped families make the most of their SNAP benefits by providing practical nutrition education and increasing access to fresh, affordable food, while also strengthening local agricultural economies. A statewide network of trusted partners, including Children’s Aid, Cornell Cooperative Extensions, community-based partners, and state agencies, has made healthy choices easier for New Yorkers where they live, learn, eat, work, and play. Now, this program is at risk.

We urge New York state to prioritize $30 million in the FY27 budget to fully fund SNAP‑Ed’s 20 implementing agencies and sustain this proven program. Without continued investment, communities could lose access to critical nutrition education, food access, and local infrastructure that support food security statewide. Contact Governor Hochul today and tell her to invest $30 million in SNAP‑Ed to protect the health of New York families and the strength of local food systems.
